“Audition” Joins Esports World Championship as Promoted Title

HanbitSoft’s popular rhythm dance game joins the IESF World Championship

“Audition” was developed back in 2004 by Korea’s T3 Entertainment, and it’s been a popular music and dancing rhythm game for the past 16 years.

Starting with its first launch in Korea, it was launched in 2005 in China, Japan, and gradually in Asia, including Taiwan, Vietnam and Thailand, as well as North America and Europe. In addition, with the adoption of the World Championship promotion event, Audition of Hanbitsoft once again set the stage for its leap into a global game.

Audition is the only games developed (produced) in Korea among IEsf events, and they use their own K-pop as well as the latest K-pop, leading the K-pop trend worldwide. It also contains fashion items of the latest trends as well as traditional costumes from around the world, making it a perfect game for players from all over the world to play with “K-POP, Dance, Fashion, and Community.”

Audition players simulate dancing using the keyboard to control avatars that dance with or against other players. The game is played by pressing the arrows displayed on the screen as well as the spacebar or control key on every 4th beat of the song. The more accurately the spacebar or control key is pressed, the higher the score. That’s the dynamic point of winning or losing in just 0.1 second, and this part of the game promises to be a fun and interesting addition to the world championships, as an Esports event more than any other game.

As a promoted title, competitors in the Audition tournament will compete for gold, silver, and bronze medals.

IESF announced eFootball PES series, Tekken 7 and DOTA2 as the official titles for this year’s event. IESF is looking forward to seeing all the world’s best national teams represent their countries in all titles at IESF’s 12th Esports World Championship in Eilat, Israel.

TOLERANCE IN ESPORTS COMMISSION LAUNCHED

IESF and the Ministry agreed to collaborate on a number of initiatives, including the formation of an IESF Global Commission of Tolerance and Coexistence in Esports. Sports is very much a unique and powerful vehicle, its reach and breadth enable to bring people together who differ with regard to their nationality, ethnic origins, cultural and political beliefs, into a universal community of common values. Esports and gaming are no different and due to its connectivity has the potential to an even greater impact to promote positive values. The establishment of The Commission will engage in key debates with its mission for promoting peace, tolerance, harmonious coexistence and stronger ties between communities.

On this momentous occasion, His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence said, “It is my hope that by working together, the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence and the IESF will create an online culture that recognizes that while we may be connected virtually, we are interacting with fellow human beings. Tolerance and coexistence are the foundations for a peaceful and productive world. A world where diversity is respected, where we embrace our common humanity, where we recognize our interdependence and take action to help others.”

We have a very diverse community with a growing membership of over 70 nations. We are deeply privileged to establish a strong partnership with the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence under the wise leadership of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan, together, I have no doubt this collaboration will accomplish its ambitious mission.

The IESF Global Commission of Tolerance and Coexistence in Esports will develop a working group that will engage with all stakeholders, athletes, gamers, teams, publishers, parents, schools and governing federations, as part of its consultative process on the many issues and develop a key strategy that will promote the message of tolerance. I wish to emphasize that this is for all the community to be engaged with and not just our existing membership. Please join us as we strive to bring peace and harmony that celebrate our differences. We are all one family and united in Esports.”

The Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence in the United Arab Emirates recognizes and embraces diversity in all of its forms and draws on its inspiration from the core values stemming from coexistence and harmony, expressing this all-inclusive ethos, in a variety of engaging ways in all segments and sectors of society. It fosters respect and empathy, where differences are met with dialogue, teamwork and understanding and diversity is met with knowing the other and respecting the other’s beliefs and differences. It advocates healthy competition to encourage an environment of positive sportsmanship and acknowledgement, where defeats are regarded as learning platforms for improvement in the keys for tolerance and coexistence, and victories are regarded as avenues for enabling inspiration, humility, leadership and growth.

International Esports Federation and International Schools Sports Federation Unite

Mens Sana Incorpore Sano! The Olympic games were a mere 700 years old when poet Juvenal scribed in Latin what famously translates to  “A healthy mind in a healthy body”.

It is within the spirit of this philosophy that both International Esports Federation (IESF) and International School Sports Federation (ISF) embarked on a landmark agreement.

IESF President Vlad Marinescu, together with International School Sport Federation President Laurent Petrynka signed a memorandum of understanding between both parties.

IESF and ISF will work together combining their knowledge, competencies and efforts in order to undertake various projects and activities developing Esports activity and events and promoting physical health among gamers in high schools.

President Vlad Marinescu the new president of IESF said: “We strongly believe that this collaboration between IESF and ISF will achieve positive results for the benefit of youth in terms of entertainment, competition and health. We hope that the achievements we reach together will be a good example not only for the youth but to all the gamers around the world. Our organizations have a rich history and a similar objective – to motivate youth to take part also in physical sport while having fun. This collaboration will be reinforced, also at the national level, providing a platform and unity in managing programs that reinforce responsible gaming, motivating youth to move and be healthy.”

President Laurent Petrynka, who was recently reappointed by IOC President Thomas Bach, as a member of the Olympic Education Commission, stated ”The MoU and the International Esports Federation (IESF) follow the vision of promoting physical activity and education among the eSports youth, incorporating exercise, running, and fun games into the eSport events. This is a historic step which combines live sports with sports in a virtual setting. We find this cooperation to be an innovative approach aiming to motivate the youth to get up, move, and take care of their mental, physical, and social health. This will be done through a series of competitions planned by ISF and IESF for the near future. Together with IESF, we are united in the Olympic spirit, a spirit of excellence, respect, and friendship, to build a new era of eSports among students all over the world.”

His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahayan, stated: “Positive behaviours and values are formed during the school years. The welfare of young people who participate in sports is a priority for all federations. IESF and ISF through this agreement can collaborate to craft suitable safe strategies that enable students to flourish, through physical, affective and cognitive domains that form the foundations of an active healthy life in esports.”
